About Us

Our Founder Chris Coutu started a small Post and Beam Company in 1998 Located in Foster Rhode Island. Chris had extensive experience in traditional carpentry and always had an interest in Timber framing. He took many courses and also worked when he could with local timber framers. Since 1998 Chris has handcrafted many Barns and outbuildings throughout the northeast. Our focus at Northeast Post and Beam is primarily smaller barns and outbuildings. Building options include full wood pegged frames to a nailed together post and beam structure. We can build a frame with beam rafters, purlins, or conventional rafters. We also will just install the frame and allow the homeowner to side and roof the project. At Northeast we are a small company that prides itself on customer satisfaction! We work on one project at a time, finish it and move on. We also allow the customer to act as the general contractor which helps to defray the costs of the project.
